BCI Organizational Program Builds Skills and Purpose

At Boone Center Inc. (BCI), skill-building for adults with disabilities is at the heart of what we do. Whether someone joins us seeking purpose and meaning or a springboard to competitive employment, we strive to help everyone grow. Our organizational employment program is designed to address the whole person, supporting them with the tools they need to succeed.

A Holistic Approach to Support

BCI’s program team members come from diverse professional backgrounds, including social services, psychology, sociology, counseling, education, behavioral analysis, and medical expertise. This variety equips us to address the unique needs of each employee. All our staff are highly qualified, hold degrees, and have a deep commitment to fostering success. By working closely with individuals and their families, we build strong relationships that allow us to support each person beyond the surface level.

Goals That Adapt and Inspire

Our primary goal is simple yet profound: to help people thrive. Through hard skills, soft skills, and positive behavior support (PBS) goals, we track progress using daily activity records. These records capture notable achievements, such as learning a new skill, improving teamwork, or excelling in responsibilities. We’ve shifted to more flexible goal-setting, allowing individuals to adapt as new opportunities arise. This approach ensures employees can learn and grow with each task, staying engaged and prepared for future challenges.

A Team Built on Collaboration

Collaboration is key to our success. Monthly team meetings, combined with daily communication, enable us to brainstorm creative solutions and celebrate progress. We also work closely with production supervisors, who play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for growth and keeping communication seamless. This teamwork extends to our incentive programs, which motivate employees to push their limits while fostering camaraderie.

Breaking Down Barriers

Employment can come with challenges, but we’re committed to eliminating barriers. Whether it’s addressing physical limitations, developing social skills, or learning to work safely in a group, we provide a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. By balancing fun and work, we keep routines engaging and exciting, making BCI a place where employees feel at home.

Building a Community of Choice

Some of our employees could work anywhere, but they choose BCI because it offers more than just a job. Here, they find a supportive community that understands them as whole individuals. Families, too, find peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in a safe environment that values their potential and dignity.

BCI exists to provide jobs for people with disabilities. It’s about choice—the choice to grow, the choice to belong, and the choice to succeed. Together, we’re building more than skills; we’re building futures.
